Background
The client turned to us with a request to create a crypto exchange with a user-friendly interface and competitive rates. However, the project evolved into a broader vision. The client decided to make a platform that had to systematically identify optimal trading routes that offered users the most advantageous fees and rates. At the same time, it had to be convenient for users to make trades in one place.
Furthermore, one of the main objectives of the Orion Protocol solution was to mitigate risks associated with trading on both decentralized and centralized exchanges. The project’s concept also included creating the ecosystem’s native token (ORN).
Tasks and challenges
Orion Protocol set out to address significant challenges in the cryptocurrency market, including segregated liquidity and trading safety. The primary tasks included consolidating liquidity from the popular decentralized and centralized exchanges (KuCoin, OKX, Uniswap, Binance, Curve, Pancakeswap) into a unified platform. It was also essential to mitigate security risks associated with centralized exchanges and ensure high-speed performance, which is crucial for cryptocurrency trading.
The Peiko team had to develop a scalable and secure crypto exchange, integrate diverse exchange APIs for liquidity aggregation, and prioritize non-custodial solutions to protect user assets and privacy.
Overall, Orion Protocol had to deliver a secure, efficient trading environment that sets new standards in cryptocurrency trading by optimizing liquidity access and ensuring robust platform performance. Our partnership with a client commenced in 2017. They obtained a completed MVP product. After some time, they returned to us to hire Peiko’s developers for additional services. We added new features and provided support for the launched project.

We developed this liquidity aggregator using cutting-edge technologies. The choice of Node.js and React/Next for backend and frontend development ensures high performance, enabling fast transaction speeds and responsive user interfaces.
