Background
The client approached the company with the goal of developing a unique marketplace during the peak of the NFT marketplace boom. The company conducted a rigorous selection process that lasted approximately 6–7 months, including regular calls to refine the company vision and plan the project in detail. In the end, the client chose to collaborate with our team.
Additionally, the project was intended to be built on the then relatively new but highly promising Hedera (HBAR) network due to its built-in capabilities, the still open yet rapidly growing ecosystem, and the opportunity to secure additional funding through a Hedera grant, which was eventually successfully obtained.
The project itself was designed as a tree-structured, multi-level tokenization model, where a single core platform token would serve as the foundation. Based on this token, clubs partnering with the company would be able to create their own tokens, as well as collectible NFT cards featuring their players and other digital assets.
One of the key additional features introduced during the project’s development was the creation of NFT-based electronic tickets for matches and events.
Key goals were to:
- Develop the Token via Hedera Blockchain
- Develop a fast and Secure NFT-marketplace
- Ability to develop sub-tokens for sports clubs
- Provide the ability of an assets tokenization and collectible NFTs creation
- Develop an NFT-ticketing system
Tasks and challenges
The client came with the vision of supporting the growth of local teams and student sports, which often remain overlooked despite having strong potential and loyal community support. Naturally, the best approach was to build an NFT marketplace where teams could independently create their own tokens and collectible NFT cards, while also promoting the platform through their own fan networks, accelerating overall platform growth. The project’s goal was to develop a reliable and high-performance NFT marketplace capable of handling sharp traffic spikes during major events and peak activity periods.
Another important objective was the development of a highly secure storage infrastructure for tokens and NFTs.
The smart contract behind the core platform token also had to support the creation of additional sub-tokens that would influence the ecosystem’s value and popularity. The main token required a scalable architecture together with a reliable fee management mechanism.
One of the most challenging tasks was ensuring a seamless user experience for NFT-based tickets, which generated extremely high peak loads during matches and events. The complexity was increased by the fact that existing ticketing systems at the time were not designed to support NFT tickets, meaning the team had to build a unique infrastructure specifically tailored to this functionality.

Solution
We developed a fast, secure, visually appealing, and user-friendly NFT marketplace.
It was decided to implement the solution as a PWA mobile application, significantly reducing distribution fees associated with the Apple App Store and Google Play Market.
Key steps included:
Creating wireframes and UX/UI design for the project.
Analyzing multiple blockchain alternatives beyond Hedera and confirmed it as the most suitable option for the platform.
Development of the core platform token, Lokka.
